I am making a quilt out of old jeans. I am about 1/3 of the way done. It requires no batting and the raw edges on each square are left to ravel. Really easy and fast. He Who lost a lot of weight and had a lot of jeans. Some were pretty well worn and some could have gone on to the thrift shop, but I cut them all up. I am making it for my bed and it will be 108" square. I am out of jeans! I even cut some of mine up that I just didn't particularly like the fit. I am going to hit some thrift stores to finish. I am going to do some t-shirt rugs next! Use up all those worn out t's. The rug canvas is spendy, so I am going to try one on burlap. I figure I can bind the edges and pull threads to create my canvas.
