After Toby left for work Summer and I continued our swim in the pool. It's the best place to be on a 100+ day. After we got sick of the pool...or should I say I got sick of being turned over on my raft by an 8 year old, we came inside and ate ice cream and cake and watched a little T.V. while we were waiting on nightfall.
We mostly poked around the house doing this and that. Summer being the outdoor kid that she is, had gone back outside. She was running around and worked up another sweat. She ended up going for an evening dip in the pool.
I was tempted to jump back in myself, but I had already had my shower for the evening.
Here is Summer enjoying her evening dip..

Finally around 9:15 the fireworks show began. I counted 8 different shows were were watching in the horizon towards the city. Of course there were plenty of folks having their own fireworks show in the neighborhood. Summer and I spent most of our night running back and forth from the front yard to the backyard.
I tried to get some pics of the ones on the horizon, but my camera is only an amateur camera...to say the least.
Even though it was just the two of us, we had a pretty good time watching the many fireworks displays from the comfort of our own yard.
By 10:30 we were both done with our Independence Day celebration and hit the sack!
Sound like the perfect day to me! Summer is so cute.
