New Home, New Life

Well, we finally are settled into our new home for the most part. It's definitely been a whirlwind of non stop work and after a month, Toby and I finally feel like we can relax a little bit. We bought a much older home than what we had previously owned, and this home definitely needed a little TLC. I'm no clean freak, but I don't think this home had EVER in it's 38 years of existence had a deep cleaning. We call her our work in progress....she still needs some cosmetic surgery that we're still chipping away at.

Honestly, I feel like I have died and gone to heaven. My quality of life has increased immensely since moving to Pflugerville....the city between a rock and a weird place. (I just had to throw that in there because I just think that is the cutest motto ever) Even though there were aspects of my old home I loved, I didn't realize how awfully isolated I felt. I finally feel like I'm "HOME".

Aside from really loving my home, the area is prime. Close to shopping and the city trail runs right outside of my neighborhood. Toby and I have really enjoyed walking the trails. Our neighborhood is also full of people our age, so that's definitely been a bonus, and I haven't had to fill my tank up with gas but one time since we've moved, relieving the wear and tear on my car.

I'll quit boring you with talk now, and share some pictures I've taken over the past month....

Bo loves being able to see outside

The rains have sometimes caused the creek to overflow
There's really so much more to the trails, these are just some pics I've gathered along some of our hikes...

The Heritage House Museum

This is my favorite place in the house. I've always dreamed of having a gathering table which looks out into the backyard, and here I have it. We even all eat at the table now...even Skye.

Toby and I took a night walk last night, so I took a few night photos of the creek...

This is an old gin that always grabs my attention on our walks. I haven't really researched it's history yet, but it's an intriguing place to look at...

This is right along the trail...the signs says it's where Jesus comes to pray...

And the backyard sunsets aren't too bad here either....

I didn't share outside pictures of our home yet, because it's in great need of some grooming...bushes are overgrown and need to be trimmed and the previous owners had planted winter grass which looks more like a meadow right now. And all the rain we've received lately has put a damper on some proper yardwork.
