Corpus Christi 2018

We did our usual mini vacation of the year to Corpus Christi, Texas last week. Skye drove us all the way this year. It was nice to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Bo and Toby lounged in the back seat...

Such a good boy
We hit the beach first thing after we checked in to our hotel. The weather was perfect and so was the beach. No seaweed, no ocean critters, and it was not so hot that it was really comfortable in the sun. It was a red flag warning though, so me and Skye stayed close to the shore while Toby braved the deeper end.

After the beach, we ate dinner on the bay at Snoopy's Pier. . It was fun watching the birds and boats go by. Skye constantly pointed out how wet and sticky the air felt. She doesn't remember what coastal humidity feels like...

The next day we visited the Texas State Aquarium. It's a very nice aquarium....

They have a really cool observation area up top...

After the aquarium we took a sightseeing walk along the bay...

Then we took a walk along the jetties.....

That evening we watched the sailboat regatta. It was really fun to watch all the sailboats out there fighting the wind with their sails....

We decided to go grab some dinner and drinks at Joe's Crab Shack on the bay so we could watch from the window...

Some other sights on our walk back to the car....

It was an enjoyable, short but sweet, mini vacation.
