At The Lake With The Girls

Yep, it's been awhile. Activities are limited these days...we all know why. BUT, I have really enjoying my morning walks on the trail. I find my morning walks or more of a meditation than a form of exercise, even though it serves both purposes...

We also have been enjoying the lake this year. It's the one place Skye seems to enjoy without complaint. Her friend Jordan, who is a pleasant soul, came along with us...

Galveston 2020

Last week we took an impromptu trip to Galveston. It was a nice little getaway, but as I get older I much prefer to stay closer to home. The allure of travel is no longer in my mindset.I feel like it's more work than pleasure. I suppose if I ever in this lifetime got to travel just Toby and I, it may feel different.

While we were there we visited the Moody Mansion.....

We also visited the Moody Gardens Aquarium....

And of course, swam. Well....they swam, mama doesn't get in water where there are known attack creatures especially when I can't see when they're coming....

I'm glad we went when we did, because the day after we left they shut the beaches down. I'm sure that disappointed the miles of traffic that we saw headed in the opposite direction towards the beach.

North Fork Lake

Last week we went back to Lake Georgetown...my pictures tagged the area we were in as North Fork Lake, and we took Skye and her friend Jordan along. I was surprised Skye had a lot of fun swimming, because she usually doesn't find fun in much of anything outdoorsy in her late teens. If you look hard, you can see the girls on the shore in this pic...

While Toby and the girls swam, I took the time to meander down the shore line to do some exploring...

Looks like someone had tried to make a makeshift bench...

Toby was calling these covid flowers....

The day had been threatening rain, and we dodged rain showers all day but for the most part we remained dry until the end of the day came a small shower....

Lake Georgetown

This past week, Toby and I have been exploring the trails along Lake Georgetown. Even though we have hiked Lake Georgetown a few times over the years, we have never really explored the lake itself. I feel like we have found heaven. The water is absolutely beautiful. I'll just leave this post at that and let you see for yourself....
