Catch Up

Even though I've been busy doing things, I have neglected to document my activities.

A couple of weeks ago we visited with Toby's sister. She was in Austin for a couple of days for some sort of motorcycle thingy with her husband.

It was a nice visit and even though I have met her before, this was the first time I had a conversation with her. In Skye's words, "Daddy's sister seems like the only sane one in his family". I had to agree.

I can't believe the camera queen (me) didn't even get any pictures of the event.

Me and Skye have been taking afternoon hikes through the park. This is her trying to get a pic of a red dragonfly we spotted.....

Skye braved the first swim of the year. It was cold!!!!

Yes, I am obsessed with taking photos of this old homestead....

A beautiful sunset....

Toby and I took a hike through Walnut Creek one day....

Another lovely sunset....

Part of the reason my blog went on the back burner was because I've been incapacitated for the past couple of weeks. I managed to trip over a large ant mound while cutting the grass and badly sprained my wrist. Luckily, it wasn't my dominant hand, but you never know how much you use both of your hands until you have use of only one of them!

This is "cat". It showed up at our house one day and stayed. I tried to find it's owner, but no one claims him. I usually hate cats, but this one is the most chill cat I've ever met. Bo even tried to eat him for a snack one day, but he showed Bo who the boss was with a huge slash on the bridge of his nose. That hasn't stopped Bo from coming back for more though...

Toby and I hike in the downtown area a lot because it's the most convenient hiking area for us. This week we hit the Johnson Creek Trail....

There was a lot of opinionated graffiti.....

Heading into the tunnels was kind of sketchy....

They called this area a "park", and even though it had some nice grassy areas nestled under shade trees, it just didn't feel very "parky" being butted up right next to very noisy and busy Mopac Hwy.

More graffiti...

This windmill was a nice little stop....

Not sure.....

Bo's not been feeling well for a few weeks. He's an old man now, and has a bit of arthritis in his bones. Mama's been giving him extra love and treats.....

That's about it for now. This week will be spent prepping for our trip to Alabama next week. I always have such a love/hate relationship with traveling to Alabama, but I'm hoping it will be a fun trip.
