One end of the trail begins at Bull Creek District Park and since we haven't been on that end but once, and it was at least 10 years ago, we decided to start our exploration there.
I noticed on the map there was a trail that ran along the opposite side of the creek than we usually hike, so that's where we began.
You first came up to a set of stairs that led you back into the "secret area"......
Once you were up the stairs it led down a path between the boulders to a "pool"....
Then, to get to the actual trail we had to climb over some boulders...
It was pretty smooth sailing for the first couple of miles. A lot of beautiful views...
Here's where the real fun begins. We spent what seemed like 1/4 of a mile hugging the side of the bluff as we made our way down the "trail". It became apparent that a large section of the trail on this side of the creek was hugging the bluff. Angela, I couldn't help but think of you while I clung on for life...lol
Toby was expert at maneuvering the cliff side with ease, but I chose a more stable way by scooting along...
We finally came to a point where it was getting just too dangerous to keep going on that side. Plus, Toby said he spotted a snake traveling straight up the side of the bluff without even struggling. I'm not especially fearful of snakes, but I wasn't too crazy about being in a vulnerable position where I couldn't move out of its way, so we ended up having to cross the creek down the way a bit before we could find the trail on the other side....
We finally came upon our favorite swimming spot on the creek....
All the falls were so beautiful....
I always love this one, it reminds me of a grotto...
The turtles were enjoying the sunshine. We laughed at the one sprawled out....
They look like faces on the side of the cliff....
Some other sights along the way....
Here's a map of our route...
It was an equally exciting an scary hike. I really enjoyed this hike.
