April Passing on By

April passed by without incident which is always a good thing. No news is good news, right???

That said, there are sooooooo many things left that I'd like to do before I die get too old. They aren't really even big, bucket list kind of things. Simple things like camping, hiking, and taking short trips around the U.S. in a small camper van/R.V. Enjoying the company of my better half, who although I live with, feel like I have been disconnected from while kids, jobs and businesses, and just plain life have taken a front seat.

Even those simple, mundane sort of things can be quite difficult when you own a business and have a 13 year old who acts like hiking around with mom and dad is a form of slow torture.

Even so, I look forward to attaining my very simple dreams in the not so far off future. My only hope is that I still have the energy, health and desire when the time finally arrives...

In the meantime I spend my spare moments perfecting my crochet and taking pictures. It's a couple of the few things that gives me pleasure and makes me feel I'm using my "God given talents".  Scrubbing toilets, cooking and laundry just don't get it for me...even if it is a necessary evil of daily living and of course, how I earn my paycheck and the roof over my head.

Here is a look back of April in pictures:

I planted me a little garden full of peppers and a couple of bean plants my neighbor gave me.  I got several tomato plants too. (not pictured) This is when I first planted them. Aside from the couple that bugs ate they are all growing nicely....

Pink Evening Primrose

Dandelion
I crocheted my little cousin a purse.....

I crocheted this cap too. Toby said it looked like a 1920's flapper hat. I had to agree.....

One evening I noticed my neighbors standing out staring into the sky. This weird cloud formation is what held their interest......

I also bought me a strawberry plant. This is my very first strawberry. Very tiny it was.....

A "lovey" I crocheted for my cousin who is having a baby in a few months.....

More beautiful Texas sunsets.....

On a whim I whipped up this Patriotic drink cozy.....

Skye playing hide the treat with Bo. He's so attentive during games that involve food....

Skye came to me a couple of weeks ago wanting a belly button piercing. After discussing it with Toby and carefully accessing the situation we decided that a belly button piercing was an appropriate piercing for a mature 13 year old. It's one that is easily hidden and also heals without much scarring if she ever decides she doesn't want or desire it anymore.

I made her wait 2 weeks as to make sure she really wanted to do it and it wasn't just a passing fancy. Toby being in the industry knows a reputable and clean piercer so we headed to Classic Tattoo in San Marcos....

Bo in begging mode. Time for a morning run mom!!!....

Until next time!!!!
