Hiking and Biking

We were blessed with another couple of beautiful fall days this week, so we headed downtown to Town Lake for a bike ride around the lake. Skye was off and went with us.....

Yesterday me and Toby hiked Violet Crown Trail

Gus Fruh was bone dry, as it is usually most of the year. Consider yourself lucky if you ever see it full of water. We have only two times in our whole twelve years living here...

The fall colors were beautiful...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this wall of rock...so majestic..and very dangerous. You never know when one of the boulders will drop off...

Trying to find the trail on the other side of the creek to walk back on, we ended up hiking a portion of the dry creek looking for it....

Here's the map of our hike, just shy of four miles, but the elevations are what gives these hikes oomph.

  1. Love your photos, they are arty and as always they inspire me to get my boots on and follow you. River beds are so intriguing when dry. And that rock formation was rather awesome.
