Sunshine

For the past few days I have been feeling a little down. No particular reason that I can pinpoint. Typically an upbeat person, when I am feeling this way I usually blame it on my pesky perimenopausal hormones. I had a friend suggest I go out and enjoy some nature.

Taking her suggestion, after we got home from our many errands we had to run today, I slipped outside and did a little weeding in my very small flower beds. Feeling the hot Texas sun on my back as I pulled the stray weeds and grass made me think about the song by John Denver "Sunshine On My Shoulders". Aside from the fire ants that were eating me alive the sunshine was momentarily making me happy.

I have always thought if there is a God it/he/she would have to be the Sun...constant, always there, not moving, always the same and always shedding it's light no matter what cloud may be lingering.

Trying to brighten my mood into a more positive feel, I thought of other natural things that make me happy. I will share a few with you...

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
Id give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
Id sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
Id tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
Id make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always.....

  2. Hope you are feeling better soon. Having already "accomplished" what you are now experiencing, I can honestly say I am happy to be on the other side. This, too, shall pass.

Did John Denver also sing "I love a rainy night"? I love that song.
